Oral Steroids

Oral steroids are available in tablets or capsules. Simply swallow them and drink them. Doctors and athletes agree that oral steroids burden the liver much more than injectable forms. In larger quantities they remain in the liver. Because it must, it does not want to pass through the digestive tract, most of the dose is in tension before it reaches the bloodstream. When passing through the liver, another part of the active substance is deactivated.

That means the only thing is that oral steroids must be consumed in larger doses to achieve the same effect as when injected. And then there are side effects: most often nausea, headaches and a feeling of full bowel.
